This set of 6 definitive stamps was issued on January 21, 1950. They were valid through September 6, 1958 when the currency was changed.

  • 50 sen- ceramic roof tiles and a Shi-Shi lion ornament warding off evil spirits
  • 1 yen- Shuri woman in Okinawan attire
  • 2 yen- Shuri Okinawan Palace
  • 3 yen- Guardian dragon's head, an ornament on the Palace
  • 4 yen- Ladies in traditional dress at the seashore
  • 5 yen- Sea shells

    The 50 sen stamp was printed on two types of paper, regular and white.
